As an internationally recognised event, the 2012 Global Atheist Convention promises to generate a ground-swell of enthusiastic support for rational thought and ideas. On this occasion, thousands of free thinking individuals will descend upon Melbourne from all over Australia and the world. This will provide an excellent opportunity for local atheist, humanist and secular organisations to host their own gatherings to help build community and provide a rallying point for like-minded individuals. Suggested events include debates, community forums, workshops, panel discussions, social events and artistic performances to be held before or after the Convention.
The Global Atheist Convention committee is currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals or groups keen to organise and participate in fringe events to be promoted in conjunction with the GAC. We will be advertising all fringe events through the GAC website and on our official social media streams including Facebook, Twitter and Google+ in the weeks and months leading up to the convention.
