The Freedom From Religion Foundation wants California Attorney General Kamala Harris to investigate how many innocent people may have suffered financially, emotionally and physically due to Pastor Harold Camping’s $100 million campaign predicting Armageddon on May 21.
In a May 31 letter to Harris, FFRF noted numerous calls for apologies by victims of Camping’s “Rapture” crusade and concerns for the untold numbers of people he and his organization duped.
“Our organization seeks to hold Camping accountable in a more tangible way,” said the letter from FFRF Co-Presidents Annie Laurie Gaylor and Dan Barker. “We ask you to investigate Camping’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Family Stations Inc., for fraud and deceit.”

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, based in Madison, Wis., is the nation’s largest association of freethinkers (atheists, agnostics), and has been working since 1978 to keep religion and government separate.

I am a believer of Christ… I still believe that Jesus will come back to get those who believe in Him and aceept Him as thier Lord and saviour.. as a christian i accept what harold camping did is not right … because it said on the bible that no one knows when Jesus Christ will return…
randy:
“I am a believer of Christ… I still believe that Jesus will come back to get those who believe in Him and aceept Him as thier Lord and saviour..”
The pope will get married. And you better believe it because everything I say is right.
“as a christian i accept what harold camping did is not right”
I don’t have to be a christian to accept that. What makes you so special? It’s because of YOUR RELIGION (the whole “Jesus will return” rubbish) that nutjobs like this come about. Their motives are based entirely on YOUR RELIGION.
“… because it said on the bible that no one knows when Jesus Christ will return…”
Nobody will know when the pope will get married. But believe me… it will happen one day. It is true because I say it is. Oh yeah and I also say nobody will know when the pope will get married.
Randy, I don’t need to be a christian to know what Harold Camping did was not right, not because of what is written in your scripture either.
The really funny thing for me is you folk actually believe this stuff will happen, just you don’t know the date
lol
Just another drop in the sea of misdeeds religion has for so long incubated.
End the nonsense already.
Stop clinging to the 0.0001%
Every prediction written in the bible has come to past except the ones that are still to come ….. why shouldnt we believe what is written when there is so much evedence from past written events
There is no evidence from past written events. Anything can be associated back with claims it is prophecy fulfilled. But how about all the prophecies that were not? The prophetic tirades of Isaiah (13-23) and Ezekiel (24-32) against the nations surrounding Israel provide a treasure house of unfulfilled prophecies. Ezekiel, for example, prophesied that Nebuchadnezzar would destroy Egypt and leave it utterly desolate for a period of 40 years, during which no foot of man or beast would pass through it (chapter 20), but history recorded no such desolation of Egypt during or after the reign of Nebuchadnezzar.
Ezekiel also prophesied that Nebuchadnezzar would destroy Tyre, which would never again be rebuilt (26:7-14, but Nebuchadnezzar’s siege of Tyre failed to take the city, and Tyre still exists today.
I can pick up a copy of Lord of the Rings and pull prophecy out of it that is ‘fulfilled’. Does not prove that Sauron exists.
Sauron does exist…don’t be hating on Sauron
Athiests wont have to wait long now for absolute proof of exactly what religion is and where it started and what from but if people took me seriously and i could get a publisher and a nondisclosure agreement [nessarry for one off secrets of human history] before release it would be quicker as i have a full time job and its not publishing. I am in the position of knowing the truth for quite a while now and it is a real secret. Religious people are scared of death and thats understandable we are all scared of the unknown. But that dosent change the facts.
