A black cat crosses my path and I stub my toe. A woman claims to pray to Mary McKillop and has a regression of cancer. Depending on whether one believes in voodoo, one may or may not accept that one thing following another must therefore be causally linked.
The Catholic Church encourages voodoo thinking.
My local Catholic newspaper, the Record, advertises Saint Peregrine Cancer Kits, which "allow you...to receive God's cmplete healing of spirit, body and soul."
Kit includes
one 5" resin statue
full colour story card
Saint Peregrine pocket token (1 1/4" pewter finish)
full colour trear-off Saint Peregrine holy card.

I suppose that is called a multi-pronged approach to cancer treatment.
